Environmental Commitment
SAYKA is committed to the protection of the environment. It is our policy to conduct all aspects of business in a manner which meets the requirements of an Environmental Management System based on AS/NZS/ISO 14001:2016.
- SAYKA takes action to reduce the amount of packaging and partners with suppliers to minimise waste and use biodegradable packaging.
- SAYKA respects the environmental impact of soft plastics and will work together with customers and Waste Management partners to minimise waste to landfill and maximise recovery and recyclability of all materials.
- SAYKA notes the important protective role of soft plastics in keeping garments clean, dry, and branding/sizing visible.
- SAYKA are working with textile and packaging suppliers to explore new solutions that will further improve environmental waste management outcomes including the use of recyclable poly bags and recycled plastic packaging.
- SAYKA respects that our customers have a range of waste management partners operating across their sites and will actively engage with them (as desired) to ensure onboarding around waste separation, handling, and collections for onsite management.
APPLICATION OF THIS POLICY
This policy is applicable to all operations. It is endorsed at the most senior level and displayed at all work locations. The Environmental Management Program has been developed, introduced and maintained through consultation between management and employees. All employees will be aware of the Environmental Management Program and comply with it within the workplace.

SAYKA CYCLE
The SAYKACYCLE program includes the reuse, resource recovery and recycling solutions for all materials in line with our Environmental Management Plan. This is operated by SAYKA with contribution from various SAYKA partners, and includes resource collections (using 'Zero Waste' bins located onsite), sorting, washing, testing and reuse (where possible) for plastics, organics, fabrics, fibers, masks, etc.
Further to this, the SAYKACYCLE program includes the capability to trade- in products with the option to force the return of used garments in order to receive replacements.

UNIFORM RECYCLING PROGRAM
We're here to help you dispose of your uniforms securely and sustainably.
The Mission: To keep uniforms and other textiles out of the landfill, whilst investing in circular solutions for the textile industry.
Have you considered how your corporate identity might be used fraudulently or whether your teams are thinking about the environment when disposing of obsolete or worn uniforms? Our processes can help you to account for every item and contribute towards your company's sustainability goals.
What do your uniforms get recycled into?
The various yarns from your uniforms make a variety of recycled products such as totes, cushions, gloves, socks, and rugs, to name a few.
HOW IT WORKS
1.
Place your old uniforms into the Sayka Uniform Recycling Bins.
2.
Contact Sayka to arrange the collection of your old uniforms once your bins are full.
3.
Sayka will weigh your uniforms when they arrive in our warehouse and place them in our bulk uniform recycling bin. Your uniform bins will then be returned.
4.
Your uniforms will then be washed and mechanically shredded. Then the recycled fibre is spun into yarn.

BISLEY RECYCLE
In 2021, Bisley introduced certified recycled polyester yarns into our product range. Made from post-consumer plastic waste, these fibres divert pollution that could otherwise end up in landfill or our waterways. Through careful R&D, we utilise these fibres to develop our durable workwear range.
Transitioning conventional polyester to certified recycled options lessens our dependence on fossil fuels and diverts waste from landfills and waterways.
