At SAYKA, our mission is to foster a more sustainable future by preventing workwear, footwear, and PPE from becoming waste in Australia’s landfills. We offer our customers a seamless solution that enables the efficient collection of employer-issued workwear and safety items from worksites and factories, all around the country. By streamlining the collection process, we help businesses reduce their environmental impact and take proactive steps in reducing waste to landfill. Once collected, items are sorted offsite by material type, before being processed using advanced recycling methods, and transformed into innovative Up-Cycled products.

To achieve this ambitious goal, we proudly partner with Upparel to offer this end-to end solution which is transparent, traceable, secure, and 100% circular. OUR SOLUTION

Our SAYKA CYCLE bins simplify the recycling process, offering an effortless way to dispose of textiles. This system is an ideal choice for offices, sites, or warehouses, looking to minimise their environmental footprint by reducing textile waste. By choosing SAYKA Cycle, our customers can play an active role in protecting the planet with seamless, fully circular solutions.

HOW IT WORKS

Recycling with SAYKA CYCLE is a straightforward process where our team handles every step of the process, making sustainability easy for our customers.

      1. ORDER & DELIVER Select the size of bins you would like us to deliver to your worksite(s) and their locations. Our team will help you select the correct size and the frequency for collections, e.g. ad hoc, monthly or 2-monthly.
      2. ONSITE COLLECT Our team will arrange for the collection of bins from your site(s). Where there are multiple bins, these need to be brought together onsite at the one location for ease of pick up, loading, and transportation.
      3. PROCESSING AND UP-CYCLING The sorted items are processed responsibly, removing any hardware and recycling soft plastics. Recyclable materials are transformed into new products through up-cycling processes.
      4. IMPACT REPORTING We provide each customer quarterly Impact Statements which can then be shared with management or community, highlighting the positive impact of landfill diversion by the kilogram and the greenhouse gases prevented. In addition, we can provide Outcome Reports which include a breakdown of all waste stream channels and outcomes.

THE RECYCLING PROCESS

1. COLLECTION

Once your onsite recycling bin is collected, contents will be weighed and transported to our partner waste sorting facility.

2. SORT

Items are carefully sorted individually to determine the suitable end-of-life channel for the item. Where a non-textile item is identified (ie. footwear, PPE, packaging, etc) these materials are separated and allocated to the correct recycling partner.

3. DECOMMISSION

Removing any straps, buckles, buttons, or other hardware, and recycling any soft plastics. This comprehensive sorting process is included in your per-kilo rate, ensuring that we maximise the recycling potential of your materials.

4. SHRED

5. RECYCLE

Recyclable materials are transformed into new products through innovative up-cycling processes.
